Offered through the generosity of Norman and Elena Foster, this professorship enables the Yale School of Architecture (New Haven, USA) to annually invite distinguished international architects to teach in the design studio.
The Norman Foster Foundation provides workshop scholarships to students from all over the world. The scholarship invites selected students to the headquarters of the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid to engage with a group of specialists through a series of seminars and lectures culminating in a workshop exploring a certain subject.
The Norman Foster Foundation works with the Barlett School of Architecture to select recipients for the scholarship. The Foundation funds the full academic fees of one student per year. This ensures that the most promising candidates in Europe, regardless of means, have the opportunity to undertake the Bartlett School’s Architecture BSc course. This scholarship was first awarded in the 2017/2018 academic year.
The Norman Foster Foundation, London—a charitable entity established in London in 1999—will continue to provide, among other donations, travelling fellowships through London’s Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The fellowship encourages architecture students and scholars to travel anywhere in the world to pursue research on the subject of the future survival of cities and communities.
